Guided plasmonic modes in nanorod assemblies: strong electromagnetic coupling regime

Gregory A. Wurtz、Wayne Dickson、David H. O’Connor 等 8 位作者2008-05-08Optics Express

We demonstrate that the coupling between plasmonic modes of oriented metallic nanorods results in the formation of an extended (guided) plasmonic mode of the nanorod array. The electromagnetic field distribution associated to this mode is found to be concentrated between the nanorods within the assembly and propagates…

Segregation Phenomena at Thermally Grown Al2O3/Alloy Interfaces

P.Y. Hou2008-05-08Annual Review of Materials Research

Experimental results on S segregation at growing Al2O3/alloy interfaces are reviewed for binary FeAl, NiAl alloys, and ternary alloys with additions of Cr, Pt, or a reactive element, such as Zr, Hf, or Y. The segregation behavior is thermodynamic in nature, but the segregation energy can change not only with alloying…

Review Paper: Behavior of Ceramic Biomaterials Derived from Tricalcium Phosphate in Physiological Condition

Masanobu Kamitakahara、Chikara Ohtsuki、Toshiki Miyazaki2008-05-08Journal of Biomaterials Applications

Various calcium phosphates are used for bone repair. Although hydroxyapatite (HA) sintered ceramics are widely used due to their osteoconductivity, its bioresorbability is so low that HA remains in the body for a long time after implantation. In contrast, tricalcium phosphate (TCP) ceramics show resorbable characters…

Nascent Crystallization of a Growing Chain on a Catalyst Surface: A Nonequilibrium Molecular Dynamics Simulation Study

Wei Mao、Bin Kong、Xiaozhen Yang 等 4 位作者2008-05-08The Journal of Physical Chemistry B

The growing chain molecular dynamics (GCMD) simulation method, a new nonequilibrium molecular dynamics code, is proposed to simulate the polymer chain aggregation behavior during polymerization on a catalyst surface. We found that the growing chain crystallizes on the surface in two stages: the nucleation stage and th…
