4-ヒドロキシブチルビニルエーテルの重付加により得られるポリアセタール(PHBVE)をソフトセグメントとして有するポリウレタンエラストマー(PHBVE-PU)を合成し,PHBVE-PU の熱的性質と力学的性質に及ぼすソフトセグメント鎖長の影響を検討した.PHBVE-PU の弾性率やゴム弾性を示す温度領域は,ソフトセグメントである PHBVE 鎖長により制御でき,従来の汎用的なポリエーテル系熱可塑性エラストマーと同程度の物性を有していた.PHBVE-PU は,熱的に安定であるが,塩酸を作用させると,ポリアセタールソフトセグメントが室温で速やかに加水分解し,分解生成物として 1,4-ブタンジオールを定量的に生成した.
